  7.     There's no arguing with Betty Speziale. She calls them as
  8. she sees them, and this August she'll be the first woman ever
  9. to umpire a Little League world series. A payroll clerk in
  10. western New York State and mother of two, Speziale, 35, works
  11. about a dozen games weekly for free -- and has a reputation for
  12. being tough. "But off the field I'm a girl first," she insists.
  13. Of her new assignment, she says, "I didn't believe it would
  14. happen. But when another umpire told me I would never get there,
  15. I was determined to try."
